The second tab from the left is the Schedule Screen. This screen provides the controls to set the initial running order for each division and then make, view and print the run sheet.
Double or Single Elimination:
The system defaults to double elimination. Click near the appropriate circle if you wish to change the default. These controls may be changed at any time but the setting at the moment the run sheets are being created is the only time the setting matters.
The Initial Running Order: Three methods are provided to set the initial running order.
1. Racer #. If you click here the running order will be by Racer number, ithin the division of course. The lowest two Racer numbers will be placed in the first heat, the next two in the next heat, etc. (Assuming that neither of the first two heats are bye's.)
2. Random. If you click here the computer will randomize the running order automatically.
3. User. If you click here a special screen will appear with all the relevant Racer numbers and a block for each number where you must enter the appropriate position.
Make Run Sheet:
Click on Make Run Sheet to create the list of all runs. A box will display the progress of this operation. It is quite complex and may take a few moments depending on the speed of your computer and the number of Racers. If you have not set the running order an error message will appear. The brackets are based on optimized patterns and RaceManager will support as few as 4 and as many as 196 Sanders per division (64 in the Standard model).
View Run Sheet:
You can view and/or print the Run Sheet by clicking on the View Run Sheet button. The sheet includes detailed information on each and every run of the day. Each Run is also identified by a division and a heat number.
Lane Assignments:
Lanes are initially assigned with the lower number Racer in Lane 1 for odd numbered runs and in Lane 2 for even numbered runs. (Runs is an internal counter of heats not related to division.) This is effectively a random assignment system. However, the Race Screen allows Lane Swap and provides the winning time of the last run by each Racer if you wish to allow a 'Fastest Sander chooses Lane' or similar system.
