GritTimer Micro is similar to the other GritTimer systems but has been optimized for very low cost consistent with real functionality.GritTimer Micro uses many of the same GritTimer components but eliminates some costly ones in order to provide a flexible solution for race organizations that don't need for example, a start tree or power control.
Micro has two sensors and two emitters. Thus it can be set up as two sensors in one lane (start-finish) or one sensor in each lane (finish only).
With one sensor in each lane, Micro provides a simple and reliable winner detector for low cost fun races. If a computer is added and a simple terminal program run (e.g. Hyperterminal) then winner differential time can be viewed on the computer screen. The winning lane will show a time of zero, the losing lane will show a time with resolution to 0.0000 and accuracy to 0.0002. This makes it useful for races such as the Soap Box Derby where lane differential timing is the accepted standard. Note that the Basic and Standard models also work in this application and can provide race management as well. Micro will also work for other match races from Valve covers to skiers.
With two sensors in one lane Micro's most common application would be in race vehicle development. In this case the computer and terminal program would be required in order to determine run time and see the effect of changes made to the race vehicle.
Note that the long range Sensors/Emitters are available for the Micro. Click below to see the individual parts of the GritTimer Micro system.
