GritTimer Basic is similar to the other GritTimer systems but has been optimized for low cost consistent with the features most small clubs need.

• Three foot sensor range. Reducing the sensor range reduces the need for high current emitters and ultra-sensitive sensors.
  
• Just one starting line. While different divisions may sometimes run different distances, small clubs can easily move the sensor/emitters from one start position to the other as necessary.
• One start tree, all that's needed for one start.
  
• No Winner announcements. Speech and the circuits and amplifiers and power required for it are a costly addition that can be eliminated for a smaller club.
